[one year after Gilat Schalit "captured on 25 June 2006 by Palestinian militants in a cross-border raid" a "GilatS" writes on "06-23-2007, 06:02 PM" on http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-114823.html that the journalist seems to have been "in tow" -> im Schlepp, followed by a typical hero-real-man-something: " On the 28th of February, 1999 a motorcade in which Brigadier General Erez Gerstein was traveling was hit by a road-side bomb. This happened while he was returning from a visit to the mourning family of a South Lebanon Army soldier in Kefar Shuda, in southern Lebanon. He was at the head of the motorcade, and was killed together with his driver, communications expert, and a reporter who had been in tow. Now to some of the stories about this man... It's said that in order to demonstrate to his men the 'mushroom' like effect of an exploding grenade, he would lay near a live grenade and get up after it went off. Another story states that during urban combat drills, involving live fire, he would stand behind a door in a room being stormed by soldeirs and then pop out from behind the door in order to illustrate what they did wrong. And of course it is well known that throughout his service in the IDF, he would never walk with a gun strap but always keep his rifle within arms reach. Hopefully the other Israelis on the board could add more stories to the list.", is it only me or is these accidently head-shot-killing or accidently missile-killing or accidently tank-shell killing journalists starting here? mh2010-03-07,22:42h CET] 2000 Lebanon (1) Abed Takoush, 23 May Abed Takoush, a Lebanese driver working for BBC TV News, was killed when a missile that was fired from an Israeli tank hit his car.
